Iftar Festival of Nations Held at Ahl-ul-Bayt University

IQNA – The Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) International University in Tehran hosted an ‘Iftar Festival of Nations’ Monday night.

The Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) International University hosts Iftar Festival of Nations

 

Students from different countries took part in the event, which included arts and sports competitions. 

The participants learned about Iftar (fast-breaking) rituals, traditions and cultures in various Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Jazari, the president of the university, in an address congratulated the participants on the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.

He said that the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) International University is proud to host students from various countries, adding that he and others serving at the university have the mission to create an atmosphere that helps the students be equipped with the wings of knowledge and spirituality.

He also said that the university seeks opportunities throughout the year to enhance the students’ spirituality and cheerfulness and the festival has been organized for this purpose.

There are plans to organize other festivals in the fields of poetry, painting, music, etc, he went on to say.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) starting from sunrise and then at sunset break their fast.
